Background
Biography:
1. He was born December 6, 1901 in Winnetka, Illinois and Died November 2, 1990 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
2. His education included of him Entering Harvard University and studying sciences, then he graduated and went to study at Harvard Medical school, and after he graduated with his masters degree from Harvard he went to the university of cambridge.
3. The personal events that happened and effected his art is that he Photographed around Winnetka and on Great Spruce Head Island where their summer home was, first he used his Brownie box camera and later a Graflex; when he took his first photographs of birds.
4. He studied science and medical care in college before photography.
5. Eliot Porter became interested in becoming a photographer when he was 11 years old, when he recieved a Brownie box camera for Christmas.

About his Photography:
1.The style of this photographer is all about wildlife, and nature. He takes many photos of birds and dense forests.
2. Nature and the animals within it influenced Eliot Porter to become a nature photographer.
3. These influences appear in the photographers work by them being the character and main inspiring focus of his photos.
Historical Connections:
1.Some major contributions this photographer made to photography is that he added to nature photagraphy in a different perspective because nature photography is complicated to capture. He also show the natural and protective side of birds by taking there photo in their natural habitat.
2. Eliot porter contributed to the environmental movement.
3. This affected my photagraphers ideas because he focused of making others aware of not only trees but the natural life and substances around them.
